1/2 - 1 white or yellow onion
2-3 Tbsp olive oil
1-2 Tbsp butter
white wine or beer
- Chop and slice the onion into half rings.
- Put olive oil into a saute pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook onions until soft. Throw in a couple pats of butter. Cook until caramelized.
- Deglaze the pan with some wine (or beer if you don't have a white wine.)
- Serve as a topping.
